Gudo AG specialises in the manufacture of fasteners, but we are generally able to meet any challenge or requirement in the field of plastic components. Our high-quality systems are used in the industrial, sports, orthopaedic, automotive and occupational safety sectors. Our fasteners are also known worldwide for their use in the helmet sector to adjust the head size.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are also particularly strong in the field of bike racks. Whenever securing or adjusting is required, you can count on us. Our products are developed, manufactured and distributed at our factory in Lupfig \u2013 and bear the \u201eMade in Switzerland\u201c seal of quality.<\/p>\n\n\n

Company history<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In 1973, the partnership \u201cGuggenberger & Dobler\u201d (Gudo) was renamed \u201cGuggenberger & Dobler, Stanzerei und Werkzeugbau AG\u201d. Two years later, on 14 July 1975, the company was entered in the commercial register as \u201cGudo AG, Metallwarenfabrik\u201d. In 1995, the name was changed again, and since then it has been known as \u201cGUDO AG\u201c.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Owing to Gudo AG\u2019s positive growth, an industrial site was purchased in Oetwil am See in 1981. The new factory building was commissioned in August 1988. In addition to a well-equipped production facility, plastic components were now also manufactured in-house, and a powder coating plant and a modern tool shop were installed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1985, the two founders of Gudo AG parted ways, and Mr Guggenberger took over the company. In February 1990, Mr Guggenberger decided, for various reasons, to sell the company to R. Burkhart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gudo AG\u2019s previously successful run was interrupted by the unexpected collapse of its main customer, Raichle AG. However, a large proportion of the losses was offset by the introduction of the new \u201cMega\u201d fastener in the snowboard sector. Furthermore, the expansion into the helmet market with ratchet or twist fasteners for size adjustment has opened up a new market. Finally, the company\u2019s leading position in the field of helmet fasteners was further strengthened by the acquisition of the production and patent rights from Swock AG.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, the company entered the \u201ccar accessories\u201d market with ratchet fasteners, a sector that has since become one of the largest and most important areas of business for Gudo AG.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The process of finding a successor to R. Burkhart began in 2010 with the appointment of Enrico Maraffio as the new CEO. On 22 June 2012, Gudo AG was acquired and the share capital was transferred.<\/p>\n<\/div>

At the same time, the stamping and powder coating processes were outsourced to external partners. Furthermore, investments were made in plastic injection moulding technology (two-component technology) and the focus on development activities (both customised and in-house developments) was strengthened.
